So two of my coworkers and I had to step outside so my manager can smoke his cancer sticks and they brought up that Freddie Gray thing. I didn’t wanna talk about it but after hearing their mouths open I had to say what I read about the case, such as what allegedly happened, the cops ignoring his request for medical assistance, etc. The girl said “I don’t believe that, they have to give it to you.” Just because someone should do their job that doesn’t mean they have to. This isn’t a perfect world. The manager then said that “he (Gray) got we he deserved.” Excuse me, you didn’t even know what was going on until like 2 seconds ago and then you wanna say that he “deserved it” just cause he was allegedly a criminal? I’m sorry but no one deserves that treatment. Even criminals have rights and should be treated to the due process of the law, not abuse/neglect. That’s savage and disgusting. If State Attorney Mosby found the need to say “no one is above the law” and charge all these officers with various crimes, INCLUDING MURDER, I think that speaks volumes!
What I learned last night was that my coworkers are the ignorant ones, not the people of Baltimore who care about justice. They have distasteful and cold personalities and I’d rather not associate with them. I kept my mouth shut but I wish I had said that.
“Schools have really shifted their focus to testing, and music has really become more of an extracurricular activity. It’s almost treated like a sport. My class used to last almost an hour. Now it’s down to thirty minutes. By the time the kids get seated and settled, we’re almost out of time. It’s a shame, because music helps to teach focus and discipline. You really have to commit to an instrument to master it. There seems to be more of a ‘popcorn mentality’ among students today. As soon as something gets difficult, they’re onto something else.”
